More Film

These top two were taken with my Holga. Too bad I cant remember the speed! I think it might be 3200 though. If not, it would be the standard Ilford 400 that I like to use.

The tall, thin color pic of Ryan was taken using a cheap little throw away Kodak Powerflash camera. Love those little cameras now. They come in 800 and 400 ASA and have a great wide angle distortion. They are super cheap, at around 5 bucks per camera so I do believe I will be using them for my color 35 MM images from now on.

Ahhh.....carnivals+Holgas=the best stuff on earth. Timeless, quirky (both, but whether by design or nature, I don't know), and you never quite know what to expect (again, both).

The light movement in the ferris wheel image is so odd. The faint swath of it that goes across the top is like a cloud, but then, there usually is a bit of a cloud of dust hovering over most carnivals. I like how everything is moving and glowing. I didn't even recognize Ryan in the second image until I blew it up.

The Stieglitz clouds are really nice--I like that slight swirl right in the middle. It's like two opposing cupped hands creating a space to look or move through.

The chair sitting in the middle of nowhere is great. The camera's focus is right where it should be--an exchange between the chair and its shadow. The chair seems to be bleeding its color.

And Ryan is gorgeous as always. What a little dollface. Yeah, alright, he's a grown man, but since I'm so far away and his life growing up was pretty far removed from my life, he will always be a kid to me, I think. Until he gets his first gray hair--then maybe I'll let him grow up.

Thank you so much Kelly! I told Ryan what you said about him only growing up with his first gray hairs and he laughed.

Love what you said about the chair bleeding its color. I never thought about it that way. I have to go look at it again with that in mind.

I totally have to get more fair photos with the Holga. I want to go during the day too. And those clouds are interesting. I want to get more with the Holga. They dont seem to have as much detail as the digital versions but I think I can change that with film types.

Thank you so much Dee!! I know that pic is a little blurry but I dont care. I love it too much not to post it.
