Macro shots of decaying vegetation

I had to show a state of being for my color photography class. Its interesting that the state of being that I chose, decay, is shown through the absence of color vs being deeply saturated by it. Its something I had never thought of before and the exercise really opened my eyes to the power of color in showing a state of being.

I guess I haven't been here for a while. Senior work has been insane this semester. :)

I love the stark nature of these. They are textural, but the lack of any real color--just a natural tone is there--leaves the objects with a very simple feel to them. It pares it all down to texture and shape. Very nice.

Oh god, I'm falling asleep. Sorry. There will be time to go blah blah blah when the winter break hits.

LOL! I will look forward to that and until then, thank you for posting a comment even though I know you're totally exhausted.
