I noticed as I was about to check the updates I made to my blog, that you had updated yours as well--too weird!! haha Great minds......

2,4,8, and 10 are my favorites, and tell me 2 doesn't resemble a frog! And 8 looks like a sandy, mirage-like abstract with the sun gone all wispy like its turning to sand itself. 10 made me immediately think of a tornado. But I do have to say, I also really like the simplicity of 3--the color is so warm then fades to a dark cool tone. It resembles nothing, so it all comes down to shape, line and color. The colors in each of these are so nice! You would never know this was ice. Hmm, I'm rapping now--clearly it's late and time for bed.

I love these more each time I look at them. They should be large, matted and framed. Especially 8. There are a number of things my mind can create with that one. I love the simplicity of the most abstract images, but I think my story telling side is more drawn to the ones that hint at place and atmosphere. I can lose myself in them more. And the fact that you're shooting ice in the CA Mojave at the peak of summer is pretty interesting as well! Hey! That's something I hadn't thought of before--your images may be of ice, but they also seem to resemble fire a good deal of the time.

I really thought I had commented back but I dont see it. Maybe I did in email instead.

I am so glad you like these images Kelly. That really means a lot to me. I really love them myself and enjoy taking them. Every time I think Im done with the series, I discover that Im not. That's how much I love taking the shots.

I have to go back and see which one is 8 now. : )

Thank you so much Justin!!! I am taking more shots today. Im just waiting for the ice to melt a little.

Oh yeah, and Kelly, that was one more thing I wanted to comment on and forgot to in my first reply. It was about your comment on me taking pictures of ice in the middle of a Mojave summer. You know, that's what makes these images possible and I never thought about it. Its the fact that the ice melts so quickly that I am able to get the shots I get. Not sure why they are so often red and fiery. I think I like red the most.
